Honoring Anurima Bhargava ’96

PBHA is proud to recognize Anurima Bhargava ’96, alumna, civil rights leader, and lifelong advocate for justice, as this year’s Outstanding Alumna Award recipient.

Anurima has dedicated her career to advancing equity and protecting civil rights—work that deeply reflects PBHA’s mission. She has served as Chief of the Educational Opportunities Section at the U.S. Department of Justice and as Director of Education Practice at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, leading national efforts to expand educational access and opportunity.

A proud PBHA alumna, Anurima has also chaired Harvard’s National Advisory Board for Public Service and helped lead Crimson Courage, a coalition defending affirmative action and academic freedom. Her leadership continues to inspire PBHA students and alumni to act with compassion, courage, and a commitment to justice.
