Phillips Brooks House Association Alumni (PBHA-A)
The PBHA-A Structure In addition to clarifying the purposes of PBHA-A, the alumni present at the reunion meeting discussed the organization's government structure and bylaws. As currently drafted, the proposed bylaws envision that membership will be open to all former volunteers, staff members, and Board members of PBHA. The membership will elect officers, including a President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. Ultimate governing power will rest with a Board of Directors, consisting chiefly of the officers, representatives from each graduating class of PBHA, and several at-large members elected by the membership. Though it was accepted that PBHA-A will operate under PBHA's nonprofit status, the gathered alumni voted by acclamation that PBHA-A should apply to the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA) for status as a Shared Interest Group. This designation will bring many opportunities to alert the greater Harvard community to PBHA-A's launching and to publicize our activities in HAA's widely circulated publications. What's Next? If you have not yet registered as a member of PBHA-A, you can do so here. We hope you will also check out some of the work our alumni are doing. Most importantly, spread the word to other PBHA alumni!
